Product Evangelist
This role is based in Seattle, Washington (open to considering San Francisco-based candidates)
SageOx is a well-funded, early-stage startup building the hivemind for human-AI teams: shared memory and collaboration tools that keep people and AI coworkers genuinely aligned and productive as one team. We're looking for our first Product Evangelist to make the outside world feel what that's like.
The Job
Make SageOx loud. Build and run the demand engine — content, channels, community, experiments — that turns the founding team's narrative into a steady flow of startup teams wanting to try SageOx.
An Extension of Us
This role speaks as SageOx. Whoever holds it becomes an extension of the founding team in public — which is why deep alignment with SageOx's mission and culture is a hard requirement, not a preference. The center of gravity matters: this person promotes SageOx, not themselves. Their skill will make them visible — that's a byproduct we're glad about, not the goal. The audience they build belongs to the company.
If your ambition is to make a company famous, this is one of the best seats in the ecosystem to do it from. If your ambition is to use a company as a stage, this isn't your role.
What You'll Actually Do
- Run the content machinery around SageOx: turn internal brain-dumps, customer stories, and shipped features into X threads, posts, short video, and longer pieces — on cadence, every week.
- Be the founders' external voice engine. Many of SageOx's core ideas originate with the founding team — Ajit especially. This role turns those raw ideas into public voice on their behalf: capturing them, drafting in their voice, and shipping them to the world without the founders carrying the production work.
- Amplify the founders directly: identify the highest-impact platforms, podcasts, and moments for the founders to show up, get them there, and connect them with the audiences that matter.
- Own channels end-to-end: X, LinkedIn, communities, newsletter, and whatever's next — this role is explicitly multi-channel and experimental, unlike traditional DevRel. Try a format, measure what moved, kill or double down. New platforms and new AI tools are part of the job description, not a distraction from it.
- Build in public alongside the rest of the team: the company's shipping rhythm becomes content; content becomes inbound customers and candidates.
- Own event presence (selection shortlist, prep, booth/demo, follow-up), with founders attending only the 2–3 ecosystem-defining events during the year.
- Be the team's ears in the ecosystem. This person spends their days where the conversation happens — reading, commenting, engaging on social media and in communities. Surface important trends to the team internally, and relay the feedback that matters from conversations with prospects and ecosystem players. Outside-in signal is a deliverable of this role, not a byproduct.
- Dogfood SageOx daily and evangelize from lived use, not talking points.
What Success Looks Like
Numbers, not vibes — and traction, not vanity. The metrics that count are meaningful company traction: qualified signups and trials sourced per month, engaged conversations that convert into customers, experiments run per month with documented learnings (a kill is a result). Follower counts and impressions are not the scoreboard; a smaller audience that converts beats a big one that scrolls past. Audience growth matters only on channels that demonstrably convert.
7 days: Publishing on cadence from founder brain-dumps with a light review pass; first channel experiments live with baselines.
14 days: ~3 posts + 1 long piece weekly, sustained; visible and targeted social media engagement daily; at least two channel experiments concluded with keep/kill decisions; first measurable inbound signups attributed to content.
2 months: The demand engine runs without founder production time; a repeatable experiment playbook exists; inbound is a visible share of new trials.
Who We're Looking For
- Profile in one line: A channel-native experimenter with a technical streak — a technical/marketing hybrid who has personally grown an audience or a funnel somewhere — and is AI-pilled: deeply passionate about the ecosystem of AI tools and companies.
- Mission alignment (non-negotiable): Believes in what SageOx is building — the hivemind for human-agent teams — enough to represent it as their own. Company-first orientation: this person promotes SageOx, not themselves.
- Experience: Has personally run a company or personal channel that grew (their own X/newsletter/YouTube counts as much as an employer's); has shipped experiments and can talk in baselines and results; startup or creator-economy background, not big-co brand teams.
- Technical/marketing hybrid: Can demo the product, write technically-flavored content for startup teams, comfortable using AI tools daily — able to build agents to scale part of their own work, and fluent enough to understand the audience.
- AI-native (non-negotiable): Uses AI tools daily in their own workflow and can show it; the pitch is only credible from a practitioner.
- Cultural fit: Ships fast, tolerates public failure, measures, iterates; needs direction, not supervision; embraces transparency; focused on making the team win.
Location — Seattle, In Person
Same as every role here. In person, five days a week, in Seattle. We move fast and the work benefits enormously from being in the room.
One narrow exception: Bay Area-based candidates we can get to Seattle at least two weeks a month, through end of 2026.
How We Hire
No traditional interviews. We'll clear an initial assessment and invite you to a work trial: 3–5 days in Seattle, working on something real alongside the team, the way the team actually works. Most of what matters shows up there faster than any interview loop could reveal.
