# ox brief

Show what SageOx gave this session: the ox calls your AI coworker made, how much context ox put in front of the model (estimated tokens), what it read by title, and which items have evidence they were used. Titles link to sageox.ai where a page exists. Murmurs are listed only when they were useful.

Called by an AI coworker, `ox brief` emits JSON with a pre-rendered display and guidance; in a bare terminal it prints the same report. `--me` rolls up your recent sessions, and `--team` shows a team-wide aggregate only, never who did what.

## Usage

<Terminal>
  <TerminalCommand>ox brief [flags]</TerminalCommand>
  <TerminalCommand>ox brief pane [command]</TerminalCommand>
</Terminal>

## Subcommands

| Command | Description |
|---------|-------------|
| `ox brief pane` | Show this session's ox calls in a Claude Code pane |
| `ox brief pane enable` | Install the brief pane into Claude Code, or refresh it after an ox upgrade |
| `ox brief pane disable` | Remove the brief pane from Claude Code |
| `ox brief pane status` | Show whether the brief pane is installed in Claude Code |

## Examples

<Terminal>
  <TerminalCommand>ox brief</TerminalCommand>
</Terminal>

Report what SageOx gave the current session.

<Terminal>
  <TerminalCommand>ox brief --me --since 7d</TerminalCommand>
</Terminal>

Roll up your recent sessions, one row each. `--since` takes a duration such as `7d` or `24h`, or an ISO date, and `--limit` caps the number of sessions.

<Terminal>
  <TerminalCommand>ox brief --team --since 7d</TerminalCommand>
</Terminal>

Show a team-wide aggregate across all coworkers' sessions. The report carries no per-person data.

<Terminal>
  <TerminalCommand>ox brief --json --recent 0</TerminalCommand>
</Terminal>

Emit the JSON report with every ox call in `calls.recent`. By default, that list holds the 10 newest calls. The display text does not change.

## Show the brief in a Claude Code pane

The brief pane keeps the `ox brief` summary on top (ox calls, estimated context tokens, team items surfaced and used). Underneath, it shows a scrollable list of every ox call your AI coworker made in this session. ox installs the pane as a Claude Code plugin (`ox-cli-brief-pane@ox-cli-brief`) at user scope.

<Terminal>
  <TerminalComment>Install the pane, or refresh it after an ox upgrade</TerminalComment>
  <TerminalCommand>ox brief pane enable</TerminalCommand>
  <TerminalComment>Check whether the pane is installed</TerminalComment>
  <TerminalCommand>ox brief pane status</TerminalCommand>
  <TerminalComment>Remove the pane</TerminalComment>
  <TerminalCommand>ox brief pane disable</TerminalCommand>
</Terminal>

Inside Claude Code, `/ox-brief` opens the pane and `/ox-brief off` closes it.

## Flags

| Flag | Description |
|------|-------------|
| `--json` | Structured JSON report for AI coworkers |
| `--limit int` | Maximum sessions for `--me` |
| `--me` | Roll up your recent sessions, one row each |
| `--recent int` | Session view: ox calls listed in the JSON `calls.recent` (`0` = all) |
| `--session string` | Report a recorded session by name instead of the current one |
| `--since string` | Window for `--me` and `--team` (for example `7d`, `24h`, or an ISO date) |
| `--team` | Team-wide aggregate across all coworkers' sessions (no per-person data) |

`ox brief pane` and its subcommands have no command-specific flags.
